Spring Outing Sunday (SOS) 5k Get excited for the 1st Annual Spring Outing 5-K Run! The race will be held the Sunday morning of each spring outing weekend right after the conclusion of the morning devotional. The race course is set up within the property boundaries of Camp Sea Gull and Camp Seafarer and is not a certified course. There will be no timing equipment, the emphasis is on participation and fun! A patch will be handed out to each dad and child that completes the distance. We encourage everyone to participate whether you run or walk or a combination of both. Each dad/child pair must walk/run together throughout the whole race and finish together. This race is a celebration of the “Healthy Balance” family Challenge and a successful change in some of your nutritional and health habits. Start by walking with your family 4-5 times per week at 20 minutes per session….working up to 30 minutes. Only begin to run when you acquired the proper footwear and gear. Start with periods of walking and running until your condition improves. Please consult your doctor and/or visit your local YMCA branch to get a wellness assessment before beginning any rigorous fitness routine.
